Hi there, my name is Matt Chia
I’ve been doing photography as a hobby most of my life. I started with my father’s old Contax camera with black and white film. As part of a school photography project we needed to shoot whatever we wanted but we also had to develop the film and then use the negatives to create final prints. Little did I know that this lead me to where I am today … a passionate photographer! But more importantly a passionate photographer wanting to use my gift and passion to serve Christ and His people.
Today I serve as a photographer at Hillsong Macquarie. I also have photographed at various events like sports, conferences and functions. I absolutely love event photography … spotting those special moments and capturing truly candid and raw emotion. Don’t get me wrong, I also love photographing posed shots of couples, families and kids, where I can take my time with composition and lighting, but there is something exciting about spotting those fleeting special moments (which often is only a split second) and capturing it.
My vision is to be able use photography as a means of serving the Church and His people. To use photos as a way to inspire, encourage, motivate and most importantly point people to Christ. Hence the name, "Eternity Focused Photography" - to be able capture photos that reflect eternity and what that represents as a believer - not living for the here and now, but living with a heart and mind focused on Eternity!

“He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time.
He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose]
in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—
yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan)
from the beginning to the end.”
